March 9th, 2022 · Steering Committee Meeting:
A Steering Committee meeting was held on March 9th at 4:30pm to review updates to the Railroad Avenue District. In their review, the committee requested additional information on zoning, legal procedures, and development considerations to assist in their recommendation. Talking points centered on proposed building heights (what is appropriate in varying areas north and south of Railroad Avenue), screening and buffering between uses, and desired land use considerations (residential, retail, maker spaces, mixed use, recreational, etc.). The committee requested the City provide additional information (in print and digital format) regarding business incentives and programs. Discussion of the Transitional District was tabled for the next meeting, which will be held at 4:30pm on March 30th.

The next Steering Committee meeting will take place on March 30th, 2022 and will review additional information pursuant to making a recommendation for the Railroad Avenue District and potential sub-districts. Review of Draft Guidelines for the Transitional District is anticipated in addition to beginning discussion on the Mixed Industrial District. The meeting will begin at 4:30 pm and take place at the Human Services Building, 139 6th Street with virtual participation available.
